Working Hours:

Monday to Friday 40 hours per week – You are also required to work such additional hours as may be necessary for the proper performance of your duties or that may be required to fulfil role.

Job Role/Description

Ensure the efficient working of the weighbridge, accurately recording the movement of goods and invoicing to Boughton customers.

Responsibilities

    • Greet Customers – Operate the weighbridge, ensuring all goods in and out are accurately recorded into the relevant system. Ensuing they have been weighed in and out (making sure they don’t go out overweight) 
    • Take payment for trade customers and record them accurately. 
    • Purchase orders and sales orders end to end process such as, 
    • Topsoil, compost, sand, diesel, pallets, haulage of goods in & out. 
    • haulage (work out costs) and book the haulage on the portal for any pallet delivery jobs going on Sandersons or PC Howard  
    • Sales orders for customers who have not pre-ordered. 
    • Review all sales orders, confirming all details are as required – communicate with sales team as necessary regarding any adjustments.  
    • Liase with the sales team on general queries and updates  
    • Invoice orders  
    • Print off any Garden topsoil direct shop orders from the Sanderson portal, keep log of all orders that go out on each day 
    • Keep records of any soil coming in and update/receipt in haulage as required. 
    • Monthly – go through the receipted in POs and see if they are showing as ‘completed’ on sage and if so, file them 
    • Deal with accounts & general queries, from customers. 
    • General office administration such as  
    • Keep the whiteboard up to date as any new orders come on  
    • Organised labeling for senior team  
    • Keep all facilities topped up 
    • Assist manager with ad hoc administration tasks 
    • Keep office/canteen/kitchen/toilets/reception presentable  

    Occasionally there may be a requirement to assist production staff in the yard when required with light duties. 

    • Helping out operating machines if needed, mainly robot bagging plant. 
    • Get any small bags ready that customers are collecting (e.g., grass seed) 
    • Label all pallet orders which are going out on Sanderson and PC Howard. 
    • Ensure drivers are following health and safety requirements (wearing hi vis etc) 
    • Understand and promote the sites health and safety policies, ensuring these are followed by site visitors.

Competencies

  • Strong data entry skills with accuracy and attention to detail  
  • Excellent communication skills  
  • Ability to multitask  
  • Experience in weighbridge operation preferred but full training will be provided 
  • Working knowledge of Sage 200 desirable but not essential
