Our equipment is maintained and serviced to the highest standards; supported UK wide from a 10,000sq ft state of the art facility. Our hire options ensure that our customers can meet their project requirements, form a full fleet of construction machinery, to the replacement of a breakdown during a critical period.

We are the largest CAT Authorised Sales & Service Centre (ASSC) in the UK, providing a compact construction equipment range of over 300 models from 1.5t -10t, built to a standard that’s hard to beat.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday 40 hours per week flexible hours between 07:00 and 18:00 – You are also required to work such additional hours as may be necessary for the proper performance of your duties or that may be required to fulfil role.

Job Role/Description

There is an exciting opportunity to join Bennie Plant as a Sales Manager, as we have recently become an Authorised Sale and Service Centre for CAT, selling their compact range of excavators, skid steers, loading shovels and backhoe loaders.

Having already developed an expanse of clients, the Sales Manager will help to build the client portfolio, and expand the region of sales through previous skills and knowledge in the plant industry.

The Sales Manager will play a key lead role in all stages of the sales process, including initial prospecting, appointment making, customer presentations and demonstrations through to ultimately closing the deal.

Offering a consultative approach, working across all levels from shop floor to board level, the Sales Manager will develop a thorough understanding of each customer and their operations, to secure new business.

Bennie Plant require a driven individual who can demonstrate a successful sales track record within their chosen field.

Responsibilities

  • Target, secure and develop new customers
  • Introduce relevant industries to Bennie Plant’s service offering
  • Continuing development and refinement of Bennie Plant’s service offering to maximise opportunity
  • Identify customer requirements through effective questioning and tailoring of products to meet our customers’ current and future needs
  • Negotiate new and renewed contracts with pricing
  • Provide customers with quotations
  • Manage contracts from planning to delivery
  • Gather market information, identify new markets and business opportunities
  • Record sales and activity on a CRM
  • Achieve and surpass sales targets
  • Communicate effectively with the Head of Sales team

Competencies

  • Experienced Sales Manager within the industry, with knowledge and experience of plant sales and hire.
  • Knowledge of heavy and compact machinery would be essential
  • Strong new business development skills.
  • Effective account management / development capabilities.
  • People person with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Strong presentation and customer facing skills (written and verbal presentations, equipment demonstration, price negotiation and objection handling).
  • Commercial acumen (need identification, market awareness, competitor awareness).
  • Solution sales ability.
  • Numerically competent.
  • IT skills (Microsoft Office, email, CRM.).
  • Excellent organisational skills (specifically territory planning, time management and working to deadline).
  • Ability to absorb client information and communicate features and benefits to customers
