Job Role/Description

Bennie Plant are looking for engineers to carry out servicing and repairs of plant & equipment, provide trouble shooting and diagnostic assessment, conduct machine inspections, reporting defects and attempt to provide solutions. Proactively maintain kit to ensure its uptime for customers.

Responsibilities

Teamwork

  • Support the Workshop manager in identifying plant issues. 
  • Work proactively as part of a busy workshop team both in the workshop and on our construction sites. 
  • Ensuring that safe practices are demonstrated on site whilst conducting your work. 
  • Where necessary brief the operators on the issues which are causing damage or wear to plant and equipment. 
  • Promote safe practices in operation and repair of equipment within the business. 
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to rigorously enforcing appropriate standards of Health and Safety for yourself and others at all times. 

Aspiration

  • Ensure all processes are followed and compiled with. 
  • Provide effective solutions for plant problems. 
  • Participate in the development of plant maintenance processes which suit our business requirements. 
  • Converse efficiently with plant operators and site management teams in a professional manner to ensure the efficient process of maintaining fleet. 
  • Carry out in-house training when required 
  • Carry out local risk assessment & method statements. 
  • Communicate with managers to organise the repair of machinery to minimise downtime and disruption to site operations. 

Investment

  • Investigate repairs and provide an effective solution. 
  • Any other duties as requested by the Plant Workshop Manager. 
  • Own and demonstrate proper use of tools, diagnostic equipment in accordance with PUWER regulations. 
  • In-house fabrications and repair for bespoke items and upkeep of construction plant and equipment.

Competencies

  • Excellent knowledge of plant & machinery.
  • Ability to use cutting equipment & welding.
  • Be able to work on your own initiative.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Level 3 or equivalent in Plant/Vehicle Maintenance. 
  • Use of in-house software.
