Working Hours:

40 hours per week. Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:45 with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break, and Friday 7:30 – 12:30. You are also required to work such additional hours as may be necessary for the proper performance of your duties or that may be required to fulfil role.

Job Role/Description

In order for Ken Hall products to make it to market, a number of specific steps must be followed repeatedly to properly assemble, pack, and ship them. A production operator works along an assembly path performing specialized tasks that helps move products towards the customer.

As a production operative you are a builder, fabricator, machinist, craftsmen and quality assurance all rolled into one. You work with machinery on the factory floor and with IT equipment to make sure they are set up properly, working well, and producing high-quality products in a safe environment. As a production operative you will make sure your equipment is working at full capacity, are stocked with the necessary materials and are well maintained.

A production operator must adhere to safety guidelines and ensure that final products meet high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • To work in several areas of footwear manufacture.
  • Have and or develop a thorough knowledge of our wide range of factory machinery and how it works.
  • Operate required machinery to complete your tasks.
  • Work in a timely main adhering to strict product lead times.
  • Work in a diligent manner inspecting and ensuring quality is at the required level.
  • Be responsible for maintaining equipment and reporting any faults.
  • Maintain the work area ensuring it is clean organized and safe.
  • Identify and report unsafe operations to Supervisor immediately.
  • Work in a safe manor adhering to the company’s health and safety instructions.

Competencies

  • Ability to learn on the job.
  • Flexible and able to adapt well to change.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Prioritize and manage a challenging and varied workload.
  • Hand and machine lasting would be an advantage.
  • Goodyear welted experience would be an asset.
  • CAD CAM knowledge would be of interest.
  •  An understanding of footwear patterns not essential but helpful.
  • Shoe room experience.
