A family business founded over eight decades ago now in our fourth generation of family management employing over 120 people.

The Bennie Group is the holding company and head office operations of the Group. Responsible for influencing the direction and operational effectiveness of our businesses. Working centrally across all Group companies delivering a range of centralised services in Finance, IT, HR, Marketing, Safety and Strategy.

Barton are one of the UKs oldest and most respected specialist earthmoving and soil stabilisation contractors. They take on a broad range of projects from major highways improvements, commercial developments, housing schemes through to public and private ground engineering projects.

Bennie Plant have an extensive range of Heavy Plant Machinery available for hire nation wide as well as being the largest Authorised Sales and Service Centre (ASSC) in Finning UK & Ireland’s distribution network; supplying CAT compact machines, genuine CAT parts, CAT-certified maintenance, and service support.

Bennie Haulage provide fully licensed haulage and specialist transport for all construction, quarrying, soil processing and equipment transport requirements. With a fleet of HGVs; 8-wheel tipper trucks, low loaders, curtain siders and crane lorries available to fulfil customers transport requirements across the UK.

Ken Hall have been making bespoke and orthopaedic and footwear in England since 1965. At the forefront of bespoke footwear for many decades, their extensive ranges include footwear for both adults and children, providing customers with the choice, quality and style to suit various conditions, including diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis. They also produce beautifully english made footwear for retail brand Newman & Regent.

Peter Bennie (the name of the Group’s founder) was founded in the 1930s and continues to operate some of the UK’s only independent quarries, mineral recycling & inert landfill sites. The construction industry is at the core of the business from start to finish. From the extraction of minerals and aggregate screening from 20mm to 150mm clean and downs, to the restoration of quarries with inert materials for landfill and back to agriculture. ​
